More About Camp Monsters

These are the stories of impossible encounters with impossible creatures in the wildest corners of North America. A wolf man with bat wings thirty feet across. An enormous eel in America’s most popular lake. A frog half the size of a man. Something terrible that howls in the Ozark nights. We’ll travel the country, sit around campfires and talk about that thing that ran across the trail in the middle of the night, just beyond the beam of your flashlight. Come closer to the fire. Let’s hear the next legend.

The Team

Weston Davis, Writer and host

Weston Davis was born in Seattle and became a member of the REI Co-op shortly after. The urge to ramble took him to the Midwest, where for a decade or more he acted, wrote, sang, danced, begged and borrowed–from the end of a jetty in Texas to a beautiful graveyard in Michigan and most places in between. His favorite time was spent with the Strange Tree Group in Chicago. Family and the promise of real mountains brought him home to Washington, where he gets to enjoy both. Headshot provided by the talented Tyler Core.

Nick Patri, Editor

Nick Patri is an audio producer and writer, based in Seattle. He manages audio production at Cloud Studios, located in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood. Originally from a small town in central Wisconsin, he journeyed west in search of higher elevations and temperatures. Now, in addition to spending his free time cooking and road tripping, he enjoys hiking the Cascade Range and wearing short sleeves most of the year. What he misses most from home: his family and the cheese.

Chelsea Davis, Senior Producer

Chelsea Davis is on the content and media team at REI and manages the podcast program. When she’s not binge listening to new shows, she can be found hiking with her dogs, attempting to grow vegetables and learning how to play the banjo. REI member since 2006.
