Julie Ellison

Julie writes and shoots stories about climbing and the outdoors and was Climbing magazine’s first female Editor-in-Chief. She uses adventure as a way to experience the world and help the people in it. Based out of a van named Betsy, she and her 60-pound lap dog named Lizzie roam the U.S. looking for stealthy parking spots and free Wi-Fi. Her work has appeared in Backpacker, Climbing, Outside, and TGR among others. REI member since 2006.
