A Look Back at Women in Our National Parks

What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever had to wear to work? Chances are the women of the pre-1978 National Park Service could top it. They used to have to dress more like flight attendants and roller-skating waitresses than park rangers—when they were allowed to serve at all, that is.

In honor of the 100th anniversary of International Women’s Day (today!), here’s a link to a National Park Service article that describes how far female rangers have come—including some photos you won’t want to miss.
