Jason Heckle

REI regional shop specialist and avid cyclist Jason Heckle has more than a decade of experience in bike and ski shops. He has taught numerous REI classes on topics including bike maintenance, avalanche safety, rock climbing anchors and more. He joined the co-op as a part-time bike mechanic in Salt Lake City before moving to New York City. While living in New York for a decade, Jason spent most of his time traversing the city on his bike or finding a ride north to rock climb. He returned to his roots in Salt Lake City, where he mountain bikes and trail runs in the warmer months. Once everything is covered in snow, he can be found exploring the backcountry on his splitboard or taking his kids to one of the ski resorts in the area.
