Unsupported: An Adirondack High Peaks Journey with Author Bethany Adams

Join us in-store for an evening of grit, wild places and hard-earned perspective with New York author, hiker and mountain athlete Bethany Adams. Bethany will read from her new book Unsupported and take you deep into the Adirondack High Peaks, a rugged and remote range defined by tight spruce-fir forests, exposed alpine summits and a tradition of big days and bigger challenges. In 2020, Bethany became one of the first women to hike all 46 High Peaks unsupported, covering roughly 200 miles and 70,000 feet of elevation gain in just one week. Hear what it takes to move fast and light through this demanding landscape, what the mountains gave back along the way, and how time outside can shape resilience, healing and purpose. The evening will wrap up with an interactive Q&A for anyone curious about endurance hiking, backpacking in the Northeast, or pushing personal limits in the outdoors. About our speaker: Bethany Adams is a writer, mountain athlete and experiential educator whose work explores endurance, identity and healing through wild places. She is the first woman to complete 100 Fastest Known Times and a proud community ambassador for SheJumps, expanding access to the outdoors for women and girls.
