three people walk together in a field on a cloudy day

Class and event cancellation

We understand things happen and plans sometimes change. Please review our policies carefully if you can no longer join us for your scheduled date.

Cancellation policy

To ensure proper staff, permits and equipment are in place for every class and tour, we don't allow refunds or transfers for any reservation within 7 days of an event.

Refund policy

To obtain a full refund, you must cancel your reservation at least 7 days before your event.

How to cancel

Use the view or cancel button in your confirmation email to begin the cancellation process.

Want to change dates?

We may be able to move your registration to a future date of the same program if there’s space available. Contact your local REI field team at least 7 days before your event to request a new date. We can’t accommodate requests made fewer than 7 days before the event, and we cannot issue credit toward any future events.

What if REI cancels my event?

REI will only cancel an event if we have concerns about customer safety and/or satisfaction. If extreme weather, hazardous air quality, or other factors make the day’s activities more dangerous, we will cancel the event. In these rare cases, we’ll notify you as soon as possible and you will always receive a full refund.

We believe it’s possible to have fun outside in most conditions, so please note that cool temps or rainy weather will not result in an automatic cancellation of your event.
