Got shoes at home that no longer see the trail, sidewalk, or gym floor? Join us for a Shoe Away Hunger community shoe drive in partnership with Good in the Hood, a Minneapolis–St. Paul based nonprofit working to reduce hunger and increase access to essential resources across local neighborhoods. All styles, sizes, and conditions are welcome, from kids’ sneakers to adult boots. Shoes are given a second life by being made affordable to individuals and families who need them, while proceeds from the program help fund food access initiatives that reach tens of thousands of neighbors each year. Simply gather your new or gently used footwear, tie or band pairs together to keep them matched, and drop them off at REI during the event. Every donated pair helps support both accessible footwear and food programming in our community. About our partner: Good in the Hood is a Minneapolis–St. Paul nonprofit dedicated to eliminating hunger and increasing food access through community centered programs. Their Shoe Away Hunger initiative transforms donated footwear into affordable shoes for those in need while funding food distribution efforts that serve more than 150,000 neighbors annually.
