Is your child excited to ride a bike but needs a little help to get started? This fun, supportive class helps young riders ages 4-11 build confidence and learn the basics—balance, starting, stopping, and steering—through simple, step-by-step activities. Led by friendly REI experts, the class combines personalized coaching with group play so kids can learn at their own pace. For many, this is the moment it finally clicks—but everyone is welcome to come back for more practice! Every child should come prepared with a helmet, properly fitted bike and closed-toe shoes. To make the most of class time, please remove pedals and/or training wheels in advance, or plan to arrive 15 minutes early for assistance. An accompanying adult is required to remain on site for the duration of the class.
