Stretching nearly 500 miles from the outskirts of Denver to the red rock mesas of Durango, the Colorado Trail is a journey through the heart of the Rockies, linking high alpine passes, wildflower-filled meadows, deep forest corridors, and expansive views that feel endlessly big. he Colorado Trail Foundation invites you to explore what makes this trail one of the most rewarding long-distance routes in the country. You’ll learn how the trail was envisioned and built, the landscapes and ecosystems it connects, and what it takes to plan your own experience along its length. We’ll dive into the many ways people enjoy the Colorado Trail, from thru-hiking and section hiking to day trips and mountain biking. You’ll also get an inside look at the essential planning resources created by the Colorado Trail Foundation, along with meaningful ways to give back through volunteering, stewardship, and guided trekking opportunities. About our speakers: Dan and Emily Weida are Trekking Program Managers for the Colorado Trail Foundation who turned their shared love of adventure into a life rooted in mountain guiding and trail stewardship. Based in Winter Park, they help plan and lead guided treks along the entire Colorado Trail and bring firsthand knowledge of the trail’s landscapes, history, and community.
