Overview
Give your unused gear a second life and help power more people onto two wheels. Join us for a summer bike drive in partnership with Bearings Bike Works, a Westside Atlanta nonprofit turning donated bicycles into real opportunity. Bring your dusty bikes, well-loved cycling jerseys, and spare parts and see how they become something bigger than gear. Each donation fuels paid job training, supports youth bike programs, and increases access to reliable bicycles in communities where transportation can be a barrier. By keeping usable bikes and parts out of landfills, you’re also helping reduce waste and keep the ride going for the next generation of cyclists. Come be part of the cycle that creates movement, purpose, and possibility. If you can’t make it to the Saturday drive, donations will also be accepted at Bearings Bike Works throughout the first week of June. Representatives from Bearings Bike Works will be on site to share their mission and programs, highlighting how hands-on bike building and mentorship help Atlanta youth develop practical skills, confidence, and pathways to future employment.
Notes
We are excited to partner with SW Atlanta's Bearings Bike Works, a non-profit organization focused on youth development. From their about page, "At Bearings Bike Works, urban youth in Atlanta discover their innate talents and develop them into meaningful skills by building bikes and engaging in bike-centric programming. Bearings programs nurture personal development and reward youth by teaching kids how to build and fix bikes and giving them an opportunity to earn a bike of their own. This cycle of being rewarded for creating value for others is not only instrumental throughout their lives, but also key to a prosperous community. At Bearings, young people learn and grow through successful, research-based programs connected to bike building, riding, racing and related life and future employment skills."
