Mar 13, 2012

In mailboxes across the country, REI (Recreational Equipment, Inc.) members are receiving their annual dividend refunds, marking the time of year when the company shares its profits with active members. To celebrate, the co-op will offer members 20 percent off one full priced, sale or discount item during REI’s Member Rewards event taking place March 23 through April 15. New in 2012, members will also receive an additional 20 percent off one online REI Outlet item.

This spring the co-op features fresh product introductions from a variety of outdoor brands for backpacking. Looking for the perfect fitting pack? REI experts have the knowledge and tools, including in-store fittings, a new online infographic to educate people on choosing and using the right backpack, and an online interactive 360-degree experience to help enthusiasts explore the redesigned REI Flash pack series.

Give minimalist shoes a try for running, paddling or cross training. Starting this spring, REI footwear experts will offer free Outdoor School in-store classes on minimalist running basics. Classes will provide an overview of current minimalist shoe options, instruction on proper technique, training models, and ideas to help get started.
