
REI Co-op Promotes Clay Walton-House to Vice President, Member & Customer Planning
Walton-House joined REI in 2021 as Divisional Vice President, Membership

Specialty outdoor retailer REI Co-op on Monday announced that Clay Walton-House has been promoted to vice president, member and customer planning. Walton-House steps into the role having previously served as divisional vice president, membership.
“I am excited to announce Clay’s promotion to vice president,” said Abigail Jacobs, chief marketing officer, REI. “He has been critical to the evolution of membership at REI, ensuring that our members remain at the core of our business. In his new role, Clay will build on the foundation of his earlier work and continue to evolve the member experience.”
As vice president, member and customer planning, Walton-House will lead teams focused on customer research, analytics, membership, customer experience and planning operations to align REI’s brand and offering to customer needs.
“I’m honored to have the opportunity to continue serving the co-op by lifting up member insights and supporting the organization’s customer focus,” said Walton-House. “Since 1938 we have been providing exceptional service to our members and I’m confident if we continue to center their needs and interests in our work, we can earn the right to serve our growing community of 25 million members for another 87 years.”
