The REI Co-op World Mastercard is a benefit that’s available only to REI Co-op members. We like to say it’s the card that co-op members [and the outdoors] love. Here’s why:
You get rewards1, like 5% back on REI purchases-and that’s in addition to your typical 10% member dividend2, 2% back on mobile wallet purchases and 1% back everywhere else. Plus, there’s no annual fee and no foreign transaction fees3. Shopping and paying bills with your REI Co-op World Elite Mastercard lets you grow your card rewards.
And here’s the outdoors part:
When you make a purchase with your card, REI proudly donates to nonprofit partners that work to advance equitable access to a healthy outdoors4.
When do I get my rewards?
You’ll receive your 5%, 2% and 1% rewards each March along with your member dividend. Any purchases you make with your card after the final billing of the current year will apply to the following year’s rewards.
Make your card count
The primary cardmember’s name on the REI Co-op Mastercard needs to match the name on the REI membership card. That way you’ll be sure that your REI Co-op World Mastercard purchases count toward earning card rewards. Questions about your REI Co-op Mastercard rewards? Call us at 1-800-426-4840.
15% back applies to REI net purchases including full price and discount items, REI gift cards, services, fees and REI adventure travel-invoiced trip payments. 2% back applies to net purchases using a mobile wallet. Mobile wallet is defined as the method of paying for a transaction by use of a mobile device (in-store, in-app or online) and using eligible mobile wallet providers. 1% back applies to non-REI and non-mobile wallet net purchases only. Net purchases are purchases minus credits and returns. Non-Purchase transactions, including cash advances, convenience checks, balance transfers, and other advance transactions as defined in the Cardmember Agreement, as well as interest charges and fees, do not qualify. Go to reimastercard.com/benefits for additional information. If the transaction is a Qualified REI Purchase made using an eligible mobile wallet provider, the reward will be 5% back. If the transaction is a Qualified Non-REI Purchase made using an eligible mobile wallet provider, the reward will be 2% back. The 5%, 2% and 1% rewards are distributed with your member dividend annually.
210% member dividend is typical but not guaranteed. Your member dividend is based on eligible net purchases, which exclude REI Outlet items, sale and clearance items, discounted items, gift cards, REI adventures travel, REI classes or day trips, service fees (e.g., rentals, labor), membership fee, postage, event tickets, passes or registrations, government agencies and sales tax.

4This year, REI will donate $0.10 per REI Co-op World Elite Mastercard purchase transaction made to the REI Cooperative Action Fund, up to $1 million. The REI Cooperative Action Fund is a Washington State nonprofit corporation aiming to advance equitable access to a healthy outdoors by making grants to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations. Non-Purchase transactions, including cash advances, convenience checks, balance transfers, and other advance transactions as defined in the Cardmember Agreement, as well as interest charges and fees, do not qualify. Transactions posted in late December of the current year may be applied in the following year. REI may change the benefit or named charity in future years. REI is solely responsible for making the donation.
