Overview

  • Group size20 people

Follow an extraordinary 8,200-mile overland journey from Texas to the Yukon and discover what it takes to prepare for and complete one of the world's longest paddle races. Through stories from the road and the river, you'll explore the challenges of remote travel, ultra-endurance racing, wilderness survival, and the mindset required to persevere when plans do not go as expected. Learn about race preparation, training, nutrition, equipment, and the lessons gained from a 25-day expedition that became much more than a competition. About our speaker: Joe Olivieri is an adventurer and endurance racer who completed an 8,200-mile overland trip from Texas to the Yukon to compete in the 444-mile Yukon River Quest kayak race alongside his racing partner and daughter. Drawing from firsthand experience, he shares insights on expedition planning, endurance training, remote travel, resilience, and the realities of navigating challenges in the wilderness.
