A Whale of a Run Packet Pickup with Kitsap Running

Pick up your race packet for the iconic A Whale of a Run! Now in its 44th year, Kitsap Running proudly hosts this longtime community favorite as part of Silverdale’s Whaling Days celebration. The event brings runners, walkers, kids, and families together for a fun day outdoors, with routes through the heart of Silverdale that showcase the energy of the community and the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. Distances include a four-mile run, one-mile walk/run, kids dash, and Special Olympics dash—offering something for everyone. Founded in 2015 as the Bremerton Marathon, Kitsap Running expanded in 2023 to support more races and community events throughout Kitsap County. While A Whale of a Run has been a local tradition since 1983, this is Kitsap Running’s second year hosting the race. As a family-owned and operated business, Kitsap Running also provides race directing and consulting, online coaching, and race equipment rentals.
