Overview
Discover the art of snowshoe making in this hands-on class where you’ll lace your own pair of traditional wooden snowshoes. Snowshoeing is one of winter’s most rewarding activities. Now you can elevate the experience by crafting your own wood-framed heirloom snowshoes! You’ll build the classic Ojibwa style snowshoe, known for its versatility and timeless design (other style options available upon request). Each pair is laced with durable tubular nylon, that's easy to work with and exceptionally strong once varnished. All assembly kits and materials are included in the program price. This immersive class offers a rare opportunity to create something functional, beautiful and uniquely yours. Your instructors bring decades of expertise and passion for the craft. Greg has been teaching snowshoe lacing for over 40 years and is a true master of the tradition. Gabriel, owner of Northern Toboggan Co and Country Ways, grew up exploring Minnesota’s northern wilderness and loves helping others connect with the outdoors.
