Join two seasoned Rachel Carson Trail Challenge veterans for an engaging presentation aimed at preparing participants for the June 21, 2025 Challenge and beyond. This informal and enjoyable talk will feature Kathleen Ganster and Paul Sauers, who will share their extensive experiences. Both Kathleen and Paul have completed the challenge multiple times and have been actively involved with the Rachel Carson Trails Conservancy (RCTC) in various roles, including the Planning & Promotion Committee and the Board of Directors. This year, the Full Challenge spans approximately 36.3 miles from Harrison Hills Park to North Park, while the Homestead Challenge covers about 19.0 miles from Springdale to North Park. During the presentation, you'll learn about essential gear (such as shoes, socks, trekking poles, pants, shirts, hats, etc.), snacks (like GORP, gels, bars, etc.), and hydration techniques (water, Gatorade, tablets) to help you achieve your goals. Additionally, you'll receive insights into recommended training protocols and the organized training hikes sponsored by the organization. Feel free to ask questions during and after the talk!
