Take a quick journey of New Jersey and the Pine Barrens through time with Black Run Preserve Founder, John Volpa. We’ll focus the geographic, ecological, cultural, and human history of Evesham Township and the Black Run Preserve. We’ll also focus on the modern environmental movement that resulted in federal political actions and specific issues inspiring the formation of many nonprofits dedicated to environmental protection in the Garden State. Discover the serendipity leading to the formation of the Black Run Preserve and the inception of the Friends of the Black Run Preserve who steward the land. Currently, four local nonprofits are working with Evesham Township to expand the Black Run Preserve with 835 more acres of pristine Pine Barrens open space. Come and learn about Evesham’s ecological gem and how you can be part of its future.
