Mount Whitney is more than California’s highest peak—it’s a rewarding challenge that calls for thoughtful planning and preparation. If you’ve been hoping to stand at 14,505 feet, this in-store session offers inspiration, practical guidance, and a chance to connect with others in the hiking community. A local expert will walk through the full journey, including how to train for elevation, navigate the permit process, choose and fit essential gear, and plan food and packing for multiday backpacking. You’ll learn tips for safety, acclimation, and Leave No Trace principles, along with insight into the mindset that can help you take on one of the most iconic summits in the United States.
