Glide quietly into winding tidal creeks, sunlit flats, and salt marsh edges as you learn why kayak fishing is one of the most rewarding ways to experience the Lowcountry. Join a hands-on, confidence-building presentation all about fishing from a kayak, led by local angler and educator Katie Jo of Pluff Mud Princess Outdoors. You’ll learn how to choose the right kayak for fishing, why kayaks give you access to shallow, fish-rich water that bigger boats can’t reach, and how to target classic inshore species like redfish, speckled trout, and flounder. From rigging and techniques to reading the water and moving efficiently through marshes and creeks, this session is designed to help you feel prepared to launch, explore, and fish with intention. About our speaker: Katie Jo Buchanan is a Charleston native, certified fishing instructor, and the owner of Pluff Mud Princess Outdoors. With a deep passion for teaching and expanding access to fishing, she brings years of on-the-water experience and a welcoming, down-to-earth approach that helps new and seasoned anglers alike feel at home on the water.
