Join us for a captivating presentation that brings the magic of Florida’s Everglades to life! Learn about the Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge, a sprawling 145,000-acre sanctuary just west of Boynton Beach, where wetlands, wildlife and wonder collide. This immersive session will take you deep into the heart of Water Conservation Area 1 (WCA 1), a watery wilderness of sawgrass marshes, tree islands, and sloughs—teeming with wildlife like deer, bobcats, marsh rabbits, 60 types of reptiles and amphibians, 40 butterfly species, and more than 250 bird species. You’ll also explore the unique Strazzulla Marsh, where cypress forests and pine flatwoods meet, preserving the largest remaining cypress strand in the region. Whether you're a birder, photographer, angler, hiker, or paddler, there’s something in Loxahatchee for everyone. But this refuge is more than a scenic escape—it’s a frontline in the fight against water pollution and invasive species. Protecting it is vital to preserving Florida’s natural heritage. Discover how conservation efforts are protecting this vital ecosystem and how you can be part of the solution.
