The Observatory Loop Relay

The Leap Day / Observatory Loop Relay returns for its third year on Thursday, February 26! This nighttime trail relay is a 4 x 1-mile race on the Observatory Loop, designed for teams of two. Teammates alternate one-mile laps, handing off a baton at the end of each loop, for a total of four laps per team. Each runner completes the loop twice, with a break in between. The race kicks off at 7pm, so expect to run in the dark! Headlamps are required for all participants. You can register with a partner or sign up solo, and we’ll match you with a teammate. This event is open to runners of all experience levels, from first-time trail runners to seasoned racers. All participants will take home a branded relay baton as a keepsake!
