Through realistic scenarios and practical exercises, you'll learn how to recognize and manage common wilderness and trailside emergencies, perform patient assessments, control bleeding, care for wounds, and respond to fractures, sprains, and other outdoor injuries. The class will also cover environmental emergencies such as heat illness, hypothermia, dehydration, as well as bites, stings, and allergic reactions. You'll gain insight into evacuation considerations, decision-making in remote settings, and when to seek additional help.
