Overview
- Group size35 people
Join an unforgettable inside look at a rare full-length paddle of the legendary Missouri River, a 2,300 mile expedition tracing the footsteps of Lewis and Clark from the headwaters in Three Forks, Montana to the confluence in St. Louis. This is a river of extremes, where calm, sunlit stretches give way to high winds, rolling waves and the raw, unpredictable power that earned the Missouri its nickname, Old Muddy. Fewer than two dozen people each year paddle this entire waterway, and you’ll hear firsthand what it takes to become a thru paddler on one of North America’s most storied rivers. About our speaker: Frank Carter is a lifelong outdoorsman and traveler who has spent more than five decades exploring the wild places of central Florida and beyond. His adventures include a cross country bike ride, a thru hike of the Appalachian Trail and his recent Missouri River expedition.
