Whether you're training for your first 5K or preparing for your next marathon, understanding how your body moves can help you run more efficiently and stay injury-free. Join physical therapist Shawn Skinner for an informative presentation focused on lower limb health, running mechanics, and practical injury prevention strategies. Learn how the hips, knees, ankles, and feet work together during running, and discover the role mobility, stability, and strength play in supporting healthy movement patterns. Shawn will discuss common running injuries such as runner's knee, IT band syndrome, shin splints, Achilles pain, and plantar fasciitis, along with strategies that can help reduce injury risk and improve performance. You'll leave with practical takeaways, including mobility exercises, strengthening recommendations, and a better understanding of how to build long-term resilience for running. The presentation will conclude with movement demonstrations and an opportunity for questions and discussion.
