Don't Die Today: Desert Safety with Joshua Tree National Park Association
Overview
Join us in store for an engaging and practical session led by expert naturalists from the Joshua Tree National Park Association, designed to help you safely explore one of the most striking landscapes in the country. Where the Mojave and Colorado deserts meet, Joshua Tree is a place of dramatic contrasts, sculpted rock formations and iconic twisted trees that exist nowhere else on earth. It is a landscape of beauty and extremes, where preparation is essential and knowledge transforms your experience. In this one-hour program, you will learn essential desert travel skills including smart trip planning, reading changing weather patterns, staying properly hydrated and understanding the unique plants and wildlife that call this environment home. Whether you are visiting Joshua Tree for the first time or returning to go deeper, this session equips you with practical strategies and insider insight to recreate responsibly and confidently. All registration proceeds support education, restoration and stewardship efforts in Joshua Tree National Park through the Joshua Tree National Park Association. About our speaker: Caryn Davidson is a longtime desert educator and former Joshua Tree National Park ranger who brings decades of experience interpreting the region’s landscapes, wildlife and cultural history, and now leads guided hikes and educational programs that inspire a deeper connection to the desert.
