Journey into the Sierra Madre Occidental, where rugged mountains and desert grasslands form a vital bridge between the U.S. Southwest and northern Mexico. Follow the path of the jaguar, the Americas’ only big cat, and discover its natural history, the challenges it faces, and the hopeful story of resilience shaping the jaguar’s future, including its rare and remarkable return to the southwestern United States. Learn how nonprofit La Tierra del Jaguar partners with local communities to restore habitat, support sustainable livelihoods, and protect one of North America’s most extraordinary landscapes through innovative conservation strategies and community-driven education. About our speaker: Allison Kreis is Co-Director of La Tierra del Jaguar and brings more than two decades of experience working with native wildlife. Now based in the mountains of Sonora, Mexico, she partners with local communities to support conservation efforts that sustain both jaguars and the people who share their landscape.
