Discover one of Idaho’s most dramatic and least-traveled landscapes through the lens of an expert who knows it step by step. Join Boise-based hiking guidebook author and landscape photographer Scott Marchant for an immersive presentation and slideshow inspired by his newest guide, The Hiker’s Guide to Idaho’s Hells Canyon and Seven Devils Country. Hells Canyon is the deepest river gorge in North America, carving a rugged boundary between Idaho and Oregon with steep walls, remote trails, and sweeping Snake River views. Rising above it, the Seven Devils Mountains deliver sharp granite peaks, alpine lakes, wildflower-filled basins, and big backcountry solitude. Scott will also highlight exceptional hikes in nearby ranges including the Hitt, Cuddy, and West Mountains, tucked around communities like Cambridge, Council, New Meadows, and Riggins. About our speaker: Scott Marchant is the founder of Hiking Idaho, a longtime hiking guidebook author, and a landscape photographer. Since 2009, he has personally researched and hiked every trail he writes about, bringing deep local knowledge and firsthand experience to each of his guides.
