Overview

  • Group size25 people

From the vast depth of the Grand Canyon to the high desert mesas of Bears Ears and the sweeping slickrock of Grand Staircase-Escalante, the Colorado Plateau is a place of unmatched beauty, cultural significance, and fragile balance. These are landscapes shaped by time, where ancient canyons, dark night skies, and living cultural traditions all converge. They’re also facing real challenges. Join the Grand Canyon Trust for a conversation about what it takes to protect this extraordinary region. You’ll hear how conservation efforts are working on the ground to safeguard clean air and water, defend national monuments, address uranium mining risks near the canyon, and support a more sustainable future for the Colorado River. This is a chance to better understand the forces shaping the Plateau today and how collective action can help ensure these places remain wild, connected, and protected for generations to come. The Grand Canyon Trust has been protecting the landscapes, rivers, and communities of the Colorado Plateau since 1985, working in partnership with scientists, advocates, and Indigenous leaders to advance lasting conservation solutions.
