Stretching over 1,500 miles from Big Cypress National Preserve in South Florida to Gulf Islands National Seashore in the Panhandle, the Florida National Scenic Trail is one of only 11 National Scenic Trails in the United States. This incredible route winds through diverse ecosystems—lush forests, wetlands, and coastal landscapes—offering hikers a unique way to experience Florida’s natural beauty. Join us for an inspiring presentation where you’ll learn about the Florida Trail Association, its mission, and the vital role of the local Apalachee Chapter in maintaining and protecting this treasured resource. Discover chapter activities, volunteer opportunities, and ways you can get involved. To make it even more exciting, three passionate presenters—Judi Harrison, Howard Hayes, and Ron Harrison—will share their favorite local hikes along the trail, complete with stories, tips, and inspiration to help you start your own adventure.
