Discover the Joy of Birding with the Delaware Valley Ornithological Club

Birdwatching is one of the easiest and most rewarding ways to slow down and connect with the natural world. Join an engaging presentation that will introduce you to the intriguing birds living all around us—from neighborhood songbirds to species found in more hidden areas. You’ll learn how to spot and identify birds by sight and sound, what gear actually matters when you’re starting out, where to observe them, and gain helpful resources that will guide your journey. With nearly 96 million Americans participating in birding, it’s a pastime that’s accessible, affordable, and endlessly fascinating. Whether you’re watching from your kitchen window or exploring nearby trails, this session will give you the tools and confidence to start noticing more of the wild lives sharing our spaces. About our speaker: Navin Sasikumar is president of the Delaware Valley Ornithological Club and a passionate birder and naturalist. His birding adventures have taken him from local parks across the Delaware Valley to destinations around the world, including a recent expedition to the eastern Himalayas.
