Join a session that breaks down what it really takes to plan and execute a safe, rewarding climb on one of the West’s most beloved summits – Mount Shasta. Mount Shasta rises like a giant white pyramid above Northern California, drawing climbers with its sweeping glaciers, volcanic ridgelines, and a sense of wild, open possibility. We’ll explore Shasta’s unique terrain, seasonal conditions, and popular routes, along with practical guidance on essential gear and techniques for moving efficiently and responsibly in the mountain environment. Whether your goal is a first summit attempt or refining your approach for a return trip, this presentation will give you the knowledge, context, and confidence to make your Shasta adventure unforgettable. About our speaker: Nick Meyers is the Mount Shasta and Castle Crags Wilderness Program Manager and Director of the Mount Shasta Avalanche Center. With more than two decades on the mountain as a climbing ranger and avalanche specialist, Nick brings deep local insight and a passion for helping climbers explore Shasta safely and sustainably.
