Cascade High: Journey Up 100 High Peaks with Photographer, Filmmaker Scott Kranz

Step into the wild heart of Washington’s Cascade Range with photographer and filmmaker Scott Kranz for a sweeping visual journey across the state’s 100 highest peaks. From glacier-draped volcanoes to serrated alpine ridgelines, the Cascades are a place of dramatic weather, deep solitude and endless return trips—and Scott spent two years coming back again and again to climb, document and understand them. Through a curated slideshow and immersive storytelling, Scott shares what it takes to stay with a landscape over time: the long approaches and longer days, the uncertainty that comes with big mountain goals, and the quiet rewards of building a relationship with place. Along the way, you’ll experience the range through the eyes of a community of climbing partners and see how patience and persistence shape both a creative project and time in the mountains. This evening offers a rare, behind-the-scenes look at the Cascades and the stories they hold. A Q&A will follow the presentation. About Our Speaker: Scott Kranz is a Seattle-based photographer, filmmaker and educator whose work focuses on outdoor adventure and mountain landscapes. Raised in Minnesota and drawn west by the Cascades, he has spent the past decade building a body of work that spans all seven continents and Washington’s highest peaks.
