Better Trails Club: LA Griffith Park Cleanup

The trails have always given us so much - let’s give back. Join the Better Trails Club! This Earth Month, REI and AllTrails are teaming up to bring communities together for trail stewardship projects across 6 markets in the US. You’re invited to help care for local trails and celebrate your impact afterward at a nearby REI store. What to expect: Trail Cleanup Help us care for Griffith Park alongside fellow outdoor lovers. Participants will be helping remove invasive plants such as Indian Tobacco Indian tobacco (Lobelia inflata), Castor Bean (Ricinus communis), and Black mustard (Brassica nigra). These invasive plants compete with the California native plants for water, nutrients, and sunlight. This event is brought to life in partnership with Friends of Griffith Park, a local organization dedicated to protecting and maintaining our trails, and the 5am Crew, a community committed to getting outside in our beloved Griffith Park. Make sure to wear closed-toed shoes or boots, long pants, a hat, and sunscreen. As a thank you for giving back, all stewards will receive an exclusive Better Trails Club hat!
