What to expect: Park Cleanup Help us care for historic Fort Totten Park alongside fellow outdoor lovers. Participants will help with trash cleanup in the Rock Creek Watershed. This event is brought to life in partnership with Rock Creek Conservancy, whose mission is to restore Rock Creek and its parklands – the national park in DC as well as the regional parks in Maryland – as a natural oasis for all people to appreciate and protect. Make sure to bring comfortable walking shoes, water bottles and sunscreen. We’ll provide everything else! As a thank you for giving back, all stewards will receive an exclusive Better Trails Club hat! Details Time: 10 am – 12 noon Location: Fort Totten Park, 4670 Fort Totten Drive, NE (at the corner of Buchanan Street, NE) Parking: - Fort Totten Metro - 550 Galloway St NE, Washington, DC 20011(free on weekends) or street parking near cleanup site - REI Washington DC Flagship, garage at 1199 Congress Street, NE($14.70) then Metro’s Red Line from Noma-Gallaudet to Fort Totten Post-Trail Party After the trail work, join us at REI Washington DC Flagship for refreshments, community connection, and a store scavenger hunt for a chance to win a grand prize to fuel your next adventure.
