Join us for an evening with author and adventurer Christine Reed as she shares the story behind her new memoir, Alone in Wonderland: Longing for Connection and Adventure in the Shadow of Mount Rainier. Set on the iconic 93-mile Wonderland Trail, this journey circles Mount Rainier through towering old-growth forests, glacier-carved valleys, wildflower meadows, and rugged alpine terrain. It’s a landscape that demands humility and perseverance, where weather shifts quickly and solitude sharpens every step. Alone in Wonderland is more than a backpacking memoir. After heartbreak and major life change, Christine sets out alone on the trail to rediscover who she is when everything familiar falls away. As she navigates steep climbs, unpredictable conditions, and long days in her own head, she finds strength, clarity, and healing in the wilderness. Her story speaks to anyone who has turned to the outdoors for resilience, renewal, and the courage to move forward. About our speaker: Christine Reed is a long-distance backpacker, climber, and trail runner who has hiked the Appalachian Trail, Colorado Trail, and Wonderland Trail. Her writing blends adventure with emotional honesty, inspiring others to live boldly and authentically.
