Exploring Georgia’s Rivers with Author & Riverkeeper Joe Cook

Join REI for a special book talk with Joe Cook, one of Georgia’s most recognized advocates for river conservation and outdoor exploration. As an award‑winning photographer, longtime Riverkeeper, and author of multiple guidebooks, Joe has spent decades traveling more than 3,500 miles through Georgia’s wild landscapes by foot and canoe. His work has introduced thousands of people to the beauty, history, and challenges of our state’s rivers. Through vivid images and engaging stories from the Etowah, Chattahoochee, and other waterways, Joe offers a rare look at Georgia’s rivers from someone who knows them intimately. He’ll share insights from his years leading conservation efforts, his role in founding Paddle Georgia, and the moments on and off the water that shaped his passion for protecting these vital ecosystems. A special Q&A and book signing will follow!
