Resurgence of Pilgrimage: The Camino & Beyond with Author Dave Whitson

More than a half-million people will complete a pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela this year, while countless others will follow one of the many ancient, medieval, and contemporary routes across Europe and beyond. For two decades, Dave Whitson has explored these paths, and in this conversation, he’ll share why, even amidst concerns about overcrowding, the main branch of the Camino de Santiago remains a profound and invaluable experience. He’ll also advocate for exploring lesser-known routes, drawing on insights from his recent six-month journey along pilgrim roads in Italy. The evening includes a short presentation followed by Q&A and book signing. Dave will be joined by members of the Southern Oregon Chapter of American Pilgrims. About our guest: Dave Whitson is the host of The Camino Podcast and author of multiple Cicerone guidebooks, including routes across Spain and France. He has walked tens of thousands of kilometers on pilgrim roads worldwide and is passionate about helping others discover the transformative power of pilgrimage.
