Join an inspiring event with Colorado Springs climber, guidebook author, and storyteller Phil Wortmann as he shares a reading from his debut novel, Harte Tower. Rooted in the rugged beauty of Pikes Peak—“America’s Mountain”—this event brings to life a place where alpine terrain rises straight from the plains, weather shifts fast, and generations of climbers have tested their limits. Harte Tower blends high-stakes wilderness adventure with a powerful coming-of-age journey, drawing readers into the steep granite, sudden storms, and sweeping views that make Pikes Peak both iconic and unforgiving. Phil will also highlight the ongoing work of the Pikes Peak Climbers Alliance to protect access and preserve the climbing experiences that make this region so special. After the talk, stick around to meet Phil, ask questions, and get your book signed. Copies of his books will be available for purchase in-store. About our speaker: Phil Wortmann is a Colorado Springs-based climber and author of Alpine Adventures on America’s Mountain: Skiing and Climbing on Pikes Peak, and a board member of the Pikes Peak Climbers Alliance, where he advocates for sustainable access and stewardship of local climbing areas.
