Don't let a surprise on the trail cancel your ride! Before you hit a snag on your next ride, learn the basics of trailside repair so you're not left out and unprepared. Join an REI bike mechanic for this hands-on workshop addressing the most common trailside issues. Busted chains, noisy drivetrains, broken spokes are all on the agenda with plenty of get-your-hands-dirty chances to practice along the way. Bring your own bike or practice with one of ours. Please wear clothing that may get dirty or greasy and closed toed shoes.

A well-tuned bike can help make riding smooth and efficient. Grinding gears, rubbing derailleurs, and squeaky chains are your bike's cry for help. Ready to learn how to prevent or eliminate these annoyances from your beloved bike? Join an REI bike mechanic for a workshop on how to care for and maintain your bike's derailleurs and chain. We will tune derailleurs, adjust shifting, and diagnose common chain issues. Along the way, you will learn best practices for care and cleaning with plenty of get-your-hands-dirty chances to practice. Bring your own bike or practice on one of ours. Participants should wear closed-toed shoes and dress in clothing that can get dirty or greasy.
