Save the Boundary Waters Presentation & Letter Writing Campaign

7:00pm8:00pm CDT

Registration not required

Overview

The BWCAW is under threat from proposed sulfide-ore copper mining, which could cause irreversible harm to water quality, wildlife, and the outdoor recreation economy. The Save the Boundary Waters campaign is leading the fight to permanently protect this iconic landscape and its surrounding watershed. Whether you're a paddler, camper, conservationist, or simply someone who values wild places, your voice matters. Come learn, connect, and take action to help preserve one of America’s most treasured wilderness areas—for everyone, forever. This event features a short presentation on current threats, plus an opportunity to write letters to our elected officials and, while supplies last, take home a yard sign to show your support.

Notes

Sam Chadwick inherited her love of the Boundary Waters from her family -- her grandpa took multiple canoe trips for many summers and passed on that tradition. Prior to joining Save the Boundary Waters in 2014, Sam worked on grassroots efforts to advance environmental conservation and social justice in Minnesota for many years, including leading the nonprofit organization Environment Minnesota. She studied biology and botany at Gustavus Adolphus College. Sam loves spending time outdoors with her young kids!
