Private outdoor classes & day trips

Book a private session for you and your people. You’ll enjoy more flexibility and a personalized experience with your instructor.

Contact your local REI field team to book a private session.

Who should consider a private booking?

Anyone who wants to learn or go on an adventure with a small group. Private sessions are also great for families and friends who want to limit their exposure to others during the COVID-19 pandemic.

How do I book a private session?

To find a private session search for an activity. When you find the activity you’d like to do, simply complete the registration process online. Private sessions include up to four participants, but you'll only need to enter your own information when registering. We'll collect any details we need from the other participants on the day of the event.

What does a private session include?

The price for each private session covers everything needed for up to four people to participate in the class or activity. If fewer than four people participate, the price doesn't change.

Can I book a private session for a date that’s not listed online?

In many cases, yes. Contact your local REI team and we'll see what we can do.

Are the lessons and activities in private sessions the same as in public sessions?

Yes. Private classes and day trips follow all the same lessons and itineraries as the public ones, so you won't miss a thing!

If I book a private session for my family and friends do we still need to wear a mask?

Yes. For the safety of our guests, our employees, and everyone we come across, wearing masks and maintaining physical distancing is required for all Co-op Experiences, private or otherwise. See all our COVID-19 health & safety updates.

What’s the cancellation policy for private sessions?

Private sessions are subject to the same  cancellation policyas our standard classes and day trips.
