REI West Hartford is hosting several educational tabling stations around the store focusing on creating sustainability, elevating knowledge and encouraging all to go outdoors. Every station has a special prize, and kids will receive a free tote bag to carry all their treasures. This event also features a book signing by local author Sarah O'Hare and awesome giveaways. About the Author: Sarah O'Hare's "Hiking with Kids Connecticut: 45 Great Hikes for Families" is a comprehensive guide designed to help families explore the best hiking areas in Connecticut with children. The book features color photos, maps, trailhead GPS, best times to hike, fees, and contacts, making it an essential resource for outdoor enthusiasts. O'Hare, a long-time hiker in Connecticut and a member of the Green Mountain Club, aims to share her love for nature with children through this guide.
