Can I place a tax-exempt order?
Individuals
REI is unable to remove sales tax from individual or member orders. For information on how sales tax is calculated, please see Sales Tax.
Individuals with tax-exempt status can request their paid sales tax be reimbursed by emailing their tax exemption documents and order number(s) to: payment-services@support.rei.com
Corporate & Group Sales
Groups with tax exempt status should contact our Sales department to submit their tax exemption prior to placing their order.
For more information, please check out our REI Corporate & Group Sales page. Note that it typically takes our team 1–2 business days to validate tax exemption certificates, which must be done prior to placing an order.
