Buy now and pay later for your purchases at REI in four installments when you check out with Klarna (aka Klarna Pay-in-4). Simply pay 25% of the amount now and the remaining every two weeks with your choice of payment method. Klarna won't charge you interest or additional fees when you pay on time!

Klarna is a payment services provider that provides deferred payment alternatives to enable shoppers to securely pay when and how they want.

REI customers can complete their purchase with Klarna Pay-in-4 for goods priced from $30 to $3,000, including REI Memberships. Purchases of REI Gift Cards are excluded, and you’ll need to place a separate order.

All REI customers, both members and non-members, who reside in the US (excluding New Mexico and Hawaii) can choose to pay with Klarna.

How do I use Klarna on REI.com?

You’ll receive an REI order confirmation email with your order number.

Your remaining installment payments will be managed through Klarna.

With Klarna, your order will be delivered according to standard shipping timelines – just the same as other orders. The first of your four payments will be charged when the order ships.

The initial payment will be charged when your order ships, then the remaining payments will be automatically charged every two weeks to your chosen payment method. Also, you can choose to pay off your purchase early from the Klarna app or Klarna site.

For any questions related to your Klarna installment payment schedule, please contact Klarna’s customer service or Klarna Chat 24/7 (available via the Klarna Mobile App).

When REI receives your full or partial return, we’ll process the return immediately to Klarna. You can follow the return status with your REI order number.

For a full return, Klarna will refund any payments collected and cancel any future scheduled payments. For a partial return, Klarna will send you an adjusted payment schedule. You can check the status of your refund in the Klarna app or Klarna site.

Klarna is available for purchases online only for now. We hope to make Klarna available at stores in the near future.

When you sign up to use Klarna Pay-in-4, only a soft credit check is performed as part of the agreement to the terms. This does not impact your credit score and no hard inquiry is recorded.

If you receive a decline when paying with Klarna, you will need to contact Klarna to find out more as the approval process isn’t conducted by REI.

After you’ve worked it out with Klarna, or if you’d like to provide alternate payment, please give us a call. If you are unable to resolve the issue with Klarna within 72 hours, your order will cancel.
