Places We Love

Let's protect Portland's parks

Pledge to vote YES on Measure 26-260 on November 4 for Portland's parks.

Cooperative Action Network

Our parks are part of what makes Portland, Portland—but right now, the parks we love are at risk.

This November, Portlanders have an opportunity to protect and expand our parks and green spaces over the next five years through the 2025 Portland Parks Levy—or Measure 26-260.

If the 5-year 2020 Parks Levy expires, Portland Parks & Recreation will lose nearly half its budget, forcing closures and eliminating programs for those who need them most. But this November, we can ensure essential funding that keeps programs affordable, playgrounds safe, pools open, bathrooms clean and trails clear.

Costing $1.40 per $1,000 of assessed property value, the 2025 Portland Parks Levy would provide $91 million of annual funding for:

  • Daily cleaning and maintenance, ensuring that playgrounds, bathrooms and nature trails are safe and available to everyone.

  • Providing affordable access and free or low-cost programs that serve families, youth and seniors.

  • Protecting existing resources from severe cuts or closure, keeping parks, pools and community centers operating in every part of the city—and so much more.

By investing $456 million over the next five years in parks, climate resilience and affordable recreation projects across the city, we can expand and enhance access to the restorative power of time in nature for every person that calls Portland home.

But it’s up to Portland voters to decide this November—so we’re harnessing this network’s power to ensure the 2025 Parks Levy prevails.

Take action for the future of life outdoors in Portland by pledging to vote YES for Measure 26-260 on Nov. 4.
