Walk the Portuguese Camino

A pilgrimage fueled by fresh seafood, fine wine and great company

Challenge yourself on one of Europe’s great pilgrimages on this 10-day adventure from Porto to Galicia. Tackling a section of Portugal’s Coastal Way – an offbeat trail with fewer walkers than other Camino routes – you’ll follow the rugged Atlantic coastline through the medieval seaside town of Baiona, the beautiful Bay of Vigo and the fishing town of Redondela. Then join the inland route through Pontevedra, Caldas de Reis and Padron before arriving at the historic Santiago de Compostela. With a local leader by your side, luggage transfers and a small group of travelers to share the journey with, all you have to do is put one foot in front of the other.

Why you'll love this trip

  • Walk a section of the Portuguese Coastal Way – a lesser-known but just-as-scenic Camino trail – and join the millions of pilgrims who've made the once-in-a-lifetime journey to Santiago de Compostela.
  • Savor the flavors of northwestern Spain with a seafood tasting experience in Redondela and a local leader to share insider tips on dishes to try along the way.
  • Embrace the mindfulness of walking, with plenty of opportunities to relax – including a rest day in historic Pontevedra and the chance to soak in the hot springs of Caldas de Rei.
  • Forget being weighed down with a heavy backpack – your main luggage will be transferred to each hotel, so all you need to carry is a day pack with your essentials.
  • Visit a winery in Caldas de Rei to taste some of Galicia’s famous drops, including albarino – a crisp, citrusy white that pairs perfectly with Galicia’s world-renowned seafood.
