Komperdell Compact Titanal Trekking Poles - Pair - 2011 Closeout
The Komperdell Compact Titanal trekking poles help relieve strain on wrist, arm and shoulder muscles, and are ideal for shorter hikers.
- Titanal is one of the strongest aluminum alloys around and is comparable to steel—with only a third of the weight!
- Titanal is also highly resistant to abrasion and corrosion
- 3-section design lets you adjust pole length from 24 to 49 inches for varied terrain and shorter hikers
- Insulated contour grip is made of EVA foam for lightweight and sweat-absorbing properties
- Extended grip forms an additional grip zone making it possible to hold the pole shorter on traverses or steep slopes without adjusting the length
- Neoprene-padded strap helps eliminate discomfort caused by buckles and prevents skin irritation on the wrist and the back of your hand
- Quick-release baskets can be changed with a twist of the wrist; remove Vario trekking baskets and add snow baskets (not included) for winter hiking

Got these poles to hike here and to take with to the Alps this summer. THEY ARE FANTASTIC! Totally collapsable and light weight for travel, but really strong. Easily adjusts to the proper length for my height. Grips are very comfortable. Cannot recommend these highly enough!

These poles are not unisex as said in product description. They are women's poles. My hands are too large for the grips. Therefore, I will be returning them.

There is one problem with this product.
Though it is for unisex, the label says it is for women, making it not suitable to gift to male friend(s).

My first pair of trekking poles is Komperdell. The twist adjustment failed at the end therefore I got a pair of Black Diamond with lock adjustment.
However, if you travel with a packpack or have to stow poles in the luggage, the length becomes a problem. Most poles the shortest length is about 25 or longer, too long to fit inside a backpack or a luggage (unless you have a gigantic one).
Komperdell Compact Titanal is a rare pair that comes in at 24 inches. I can put it in my REI Grand Tour (3300 cu in capacity) or my 22" pullman (diagonally). They are also light weight at little over 15oz.
The other poles that are shorter than 24" are the 4-section ones from Exped or the collapsible ones from Black Diamond (non adjustable).
In my opinion, if you must backpack or do some serious hiking overseas, buy these poles to take with you.
