This is my third pair of Vibram FiveFingers and my favorite of the bunch. The laces keep the shoes securely on my feet with no straps to rub raw marks into them. I can't wear these shoes to work for dress code reasons , but will wear them in just about every other casual-dress situation. I especially love the tactile feedback these shoes afford me.

I am a large guy who is using these shoes to help with a foot injury, so I use them all the time as my main shoes in an urban area. Lot's of concrete.

I've had these shoes for about 1 month and they are already wearing out, and there is white rubber showing through a small coin sized space below the toe area. Perhaps this is not designed for urban use.

Other than that I like it a lot, and enjoy the quality and feel.

I've owned two pairs of the KSO Treks and one pair of the KSOs, and the Speeds are my favorites. They are contoured to my feet's arches, so they feel more like bare feet then the KSOs do. There is a bit more sole than the KSOs but not as much as the KSO Treks, and this provides a nice balance between a barefoot feel and protection. All in all, I love them.

I just bought these at an REI store. There was no way I was going to chance getting the wrong size. The REI staff was great and even let me use the toe socks I was going to buy anyway to try on with the shoes. Another guy bought the same ones at the same time I did. Surprised they had any left. But I called ahead to have them hold the 2 sizes I needed to try. The ones that fit ended up being the same size as my Birkenstocks. May not be the case for every person or every style of Vibrams.

It is a different feeling with these shoes, but after a couple hours, I got the feel of them. It says to gradually wear them to get use to those unfamiliar muscles being used. I haven't and won't do that. I will just jump right in.

I will update this review as I wear them longer but I expect them to only get better. Go try some yourself and see what all the hype is about. However, folks with short toes will probably not like these, but I wouldn't know.

This is my first pair of vibrams. I got this particular pair because they had laces (as oppose to other vibrams). I think the laces make the shoe fit better because there is more height variation. They feel very comfortable. I have only ran in them a couple of times but they feel good. I also wore them to the lake a few times. They feel good in the gravel and sand and can function as a water sock. They don't drain very well once you're out of the water. I have noticed that they get dirty fairly easy but are easily washed up. Also I have noticed more foot odor (may have something to with the socks being made out of lycra). They seem to be wearing decently.
As a side note, people will notice these shoes right away. This is even with the nondescript pair i have (black and white with laces). A lot of positive comments as a style.

I've been interested in Vibrams for some time, but the other choices just didn't fit, or were far to ostentatious. Thought I'd give these a try to replace my aging sandals. WOW. These are the best things I've ever had on my feet, ever, ever, ever. Ever. I've got high arches, narrow feet and over the years have suffered shin splints and stress fractures in regular shoes. There's a period of adjustment with these, but now I can put them on in the morning and wear them literally all day with zero discomfort. Most shoes you want to take off the moment you get in the door. Not these. I've taken to running in them, and they are great! I do a lot of sprint work, and these have performed well. The shoes breathe spectacularly, so hot summer days are no issue at all. These are fantastic for air travel, as well. Traction is astounding.

Other things worth mentioning:
I, and others have had issues with soles separating a bit from the.. shoe.. glove.. whatever. That's annoying, but I got these when they were first out. I don't know where that issue stands today. YMMV.
You will absolutely want to pick up the appropriate socks to improve comfort and not have the bottom of your feet sweat so much.
Above all, allow yourself time to acclimate to the differences required. Time spent here will go a long way. Simply wearing them around the house and on short trips to the store worked well for me as a start.

Overall, I LOVE these shoes. I really wish I hadn't made a mess of them trying to fix part of the sole that separated on me. That said, I'll probably be picking up another pair, because I don't want to be without them ever again.

Service and delivery comments:

The size chart can be difficult to pick the appropriate size from. Trying them on is really essential. If not, REI's customer service is great to work with and helped me out when I misjudged my sizing.

Once I started wearing these shoes I started to dislike the other shoes I own. Other shoes don't feel the same as these. I can stand in them all day long and have little to no pain in my feet, back, or legs. I wear them to work and every where else I go. My toes feel more free, and my feet breath easier. They look great, and are easier to get into with the laces than other vibram styles. Plus you can wash them so they won't stink.
