I started to write a LONG LONG review, but I will try to condense it. I am 6'3 210 pounds. I have wide feet and my right foot is a tad bit bigger then my left. I wanted to switch to minimalist shoes and did a lot of research about switching. I am an average runner only running about 3 miles per run 3 times a week or so. I tried the Merrell Barefoot Trail Gloves but they didn't feel barefoot enough. I was skeptical about trying Vibram's because I wanted more of a shoe look. Then I read about the Speed's. Found them at REI, measured my foot at 11 1/4" (I usually wear 12 wide's in New Balance) and ordered the 44's and 45's. 44's too tight on both feet. 45's left foot felt great, right foot still too tight. Ordered the 46's. PERFECT. They look awesome, are a little weird at first to wear but you get used to them FAST. Feel's like wearing nothing. SUPER SUPER light. This is how running should be. The laces are great so you can adjust to each foot. I only ran a mile on them at first. Work your way up or you will blow out your calves. Do your homework on barefoot/minimalist running. Then buy these. You will not be disappointed. Running never felt so right in them. There is a reason these are sold out everywhere already. If you are worried about weird looks, don't be, because I guarantee in 6 months to a year most people will have these that know anything about running/exercising. Why not be one of the first?

This is my first pair of Vibram Fivefingers, I would recommend going to the store they are located at and trying on a few to get the right fit, the associates at REI were very helpful and knowledgable. These shoes are so comfortable and extremely breathable. I bought the Injinji socks to go with them which makes them about 3 times easier to put on. Which in my opinion is the only downside to these shoes. Not only do these socks reduce friction while putting on the shoes, but they are also extremely comfortable. Follow the recommended usage for the first few weeks and slowly increase from there and the adaptation of the lower legs and feet should be less painful.

This was my fourth pair of Five Fingers. I started with the KSO's and fell in love with the brand. When the weather turned cold I turned to the KSO Treks and survived winter. When it got hot, I picked up Bikilas and ran. But I wanted a pair that I could wear comfortably in the southern summer heat. Enter the Speeds. My favorite sneakers have always been the simple skater type shoes with minimal support. These Speeds are like my Vans and my KSOs had a love child.
The fit is more comfortable than any other pair of FFs likely because of the very soft material on the inner lining. I was skeptical at first of lacing a pair of FF, but it makes them so easy to put on and take off and you can really dial in the fit. Toe movement and ground feel is better in these than any other pair save for the original sole on the KSOs.
What I love the most about them is that these are the first Vibrams designed to look like stylish casual shoes. Every other new style from Vibram as well as the new Fila and now Adidas look like alien feet with their vibrant colors and patterns. These are stealth toe shoes. One of my friends who routinely laughs at my "ninja" shoes didn't even notice that these were toe shoes for hours. She even had to admit that they were the best looking of my ugly foot shoes lol.
The only reservation I have about the Speeds is that I do not want to put them through too much stress. There is some suspect stitching in the toes and seams that I have to attribute to the new sportier materials. Also compared to the Bikilas there isn't that extra few millimeters of rubber under the pad of your foot so these would not be as comfortable running on hard surfaces. I do not foresee either of these to be an issue as I do not plan on running in these. These are my every day toe shoes and I'll save the heavy jobs for the more specialized styles.

These are my first pair of fivefingers shoes. I almost ordered the wrong size,but right before I ordered, I measured my feet and used the chart. My longest foot is 10 inches,so the correct size is 40 or 41. I was going to order a 46 or 47,because I thought I was closer to 11 3\4 inches,which is my US shoe size. That is a big size difference,so make sure you use the chart correctly. I am very happy with these shoes,they are comfortable,stylish and tough. I have been wearing sandals for more than 15 years,because I needed the protection. I also do not like how dirty bare feet get on trails,sidewalks and on roads. Bare feet are not allowed in most stores,so Fivefingers are good for that to. I am not a runner,but I walk a lot. I used to have a lot of pain in my left foot from plantar fasciitis,but it is gone now. I like these shoes so much,that I am planning on buying the FiveFingers Bormio zip boot ,when they come out this fall.

My first pair of Five Fingers were a pair of KSO Trek shoes in black almost a year ago and they are still in great shape through their many logged miles.
This is the first time that the speed has been available in the states. They were previously only available in the UK and Europe. I did not even know they were out till I stumbled into an REI to check out a pack and new pair hiking shoes and there they were.
I wear a 40 in the KSO Trek. In the speed I went a size up to the 41. I found the speed does not stretch and give as much. Going a size up was much more comfortable for me.
I have only logged 4 miles in these since I got them the other day but the quality and durability seem to be on par with the rest of the line. What I really found cool on these is the laces obviously and the throwback look.

October 29, 2011: me and my other half traveled by bus and walked through three cities to reach the REI used good sale in Arcadia. There is where she found these shoes. She tried them on, but they were too big and asked me if they would fit. I slipped them in and I felt like Cinderella. The next day I wore them around campus. And the rest is history; I am now Hermes, deliverer of messages. I run fast now, really fast. People get out of my way, waving their arms franticly in the air, dodging my sonic-the-hedgehog speed as I race past them at Mount San Antonio College. I want to sprint all the time. I beat cars sometimes as I blast past intersections. I wear these baby everywhere, and they are beginning to customly aquire my aroma into its fabric. I wear my VFF around the office and downtown. I have wide (EE) and extremely flat fleet (no arches and I over pronate) but I can wear these without any problem. The laces make it much easier to put them on than previous VFF styles. I quickly discovered that I preferred to wear socks with them so you may want to order a pair of Injinji socks to try out!

I own Vibram KSO, and Vibram Speed shoes. The Kso fit well, they are comfortable but on pavement and off road you feel too much. they start to hurt in the sole after a bit. The Vibram speed strangle my toes, i cant wear toe sock with these.
Buttt, Ahh,the trek sports are the very best, the material is flexible, they don't strangle toes.they feel good on pavement or any where. It almost feels like you have socks with soles on. They are now my favorite. So much so that i just went to REI and bought another pair off the clearance rack. They are out of them online. I wear size 13 shoe and in Vibrams size 47.
