      I was having a hard time finding shoes that would fit size 12 feet and have a roomy toe box. For me, many brands I tried in 12s cramped my right big toe and the toe box tapered in too much to be able to call them comfortable. REI staff directed me to Keen and Merrell--both had some good options with wider toe boxes. I picked Keen Austin for light weight and excellent comfort for an upcoming Europe trip--but I'm already wearing them everyday to work. I'm not going back to the standard, narrow toe boxes. I applied waterproof "wax" for extra protection against stains and rain.

        I am self-admittedly picky about how shoes/clothes fit. I was very skeptical when the 10.5 didn't fit me since I've worn nothing but 10.5 for 20 yrs. However the size 10 has been perfect. A great all around shoe!
